JUDAS PRIEST have just shared some very disappointing news about guitarist GLENN TIPTON; namely, the band's longtime axeman has been forced to withdraw from the legendary metal band's upcoming tour.

Tipton has Parkinson's disease, and although the original diagnosis of the degenerative illness was first made and revealed 10 years ago, the progressive nature of the disease (affecting the central nervous system and decreasing motor function) has gotten to the point where Tipton can no longer play at the same pace and with the same ferocity that he has exercised since the original diagnosis. (Recently, music legend, Neil Diamond also retired from touring and performing due to the disease.) This is the second serving of bad news recently for Judas Priest and their fansit was only a few weeks ago that original Priest drummer Dave Holland passed away.

In the band's post on Facebook, Judas Priest explain that Tipton can perform some of the band's songs but will still refrain from touring. Adding his own personal message, the 70-year-old Tipton made it clear that he's not leaving the band.

Taking his place on stage (as requested by Mr. Tipton) will be guitarist ANDY SNEAP, who has played with the band Hell and more importantly produced Priest's new album, Firepower

The Judas Priest Firepower Tour starts in early March.
