Mindy Lang 5 a.m. - 9 a.m. | Magic 102.7 -- Miami's Greatest Hits

Mindy is not only an on-air personality, but she is also the Assistant Program Director and Music Director for Magic 102.7.

Mindy's interest in music started with her older brothers' record collection. Everyday after school she would turn on her little 45 rpm player and sing along with Dion, The Temps , and the Supremes. When Mindy came into her own she started spending all of her allowance on  Beatles, Rolling Stones and Doors  records. Often inviting friends over, playing records for them and telling them everything she knew about the artists and songs which she learned from hanging out with her big brother watching Shindig.

Favorite song/group from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s:
Bohemian Rhapsody  By Queen
Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 By Pink Floyd
A Day in the Life By The Beatles

My fur children are all rescues, we just lost Sammy not too long ago, (our Mastiff) so now we are down to 2 dogs: Tweak, our Standard Poodle and Dory, our Irish Wolfhound/Schnauzer mix. The youngest member who rules the household representing the felines: Jasmine!

Favorite movies:
I have two favorite movies and they couldn’t be more different:

1 - Caddyshack is a movie I adore, a hilarious comedy classic that's faster paced than even the likes of Airplane! It deserves its reputation for being quotable. one of the few slapstick movies you actually manage to laugh with.

2 - Papillion is based on a true story, tense and scary. It is one of the most breathtaking escape movies that I ever saw.

What is something that you are really proud of and why?
My children make me proud, and in my journey of motherhood I've known so many proud moments.  From the first time my children said "Mama," to the first days of school, first steps, first days after potty-training "accident free," and we can't forget proms, graduations, deans lists, my daughter bringing a wonderful son-in-law/husband to the family and both children having DR. as the title in front of their names  (I love addressing mail to them!)

What was your first job? How much did you make?
My first REAL job other than babysitting was at the Ho Jo Junction. I don’t remember how much I made an hour but it didn’t matter because I could have all the coffee flavored Howard Johnsons ice cream I wanted!

What do you do in your free time?
If I’m not at the dog park or hanging with the kids that walk on two legs, I golf. I love to chase that little white ball around! I've also just started a garden, and I am now growing tomatoes, peppers, sage, basil, aloe, and radishes. I’ve sampled 'em all, and although it’s pretty cool to eat what you grow, I’m not ready to give up the microphone and become a horticulturalist!

Calories be darned, what is your favorite food?
Stone Crab Claws. One time I went to an all you can eat stone crab claw restaurant and ate 36 claws. I was pregnant at the time, she was my excuse! My daughter..not a fan of them.

In the kitchen, I can cook but I LOVE to bake. Cooking is an art, baking is chemistry .. there is a difference =D
